I'd probably get it as soon as it is availible to me. I think it has already been proven to be pretty safe and I even have friends that have volunteered to try it during the trial periods. It appears to be 90-95% effective, so I don't see why not get it. The only way I would not is if I get Covid-19 before the vaccine is ready, and therefore, I feel it wouldn't make any sense.
It really is not a political issue at all. I am a very strong far right conservative republican by the way.
And now Qantas Airlines just announced today that once we get to the point that everyone can easily get a vaccine, they will require proof of one to travel with them
Bravo! I have been hoping that we'll be required to have proof of vaccination, at least for overseas travel, which flying to Australia is. It's nothing new. I had to carry one of those on my first foreign travels as a young woman.
With these vaccines demonstrating 90%, 94% and greater effectiveness—much better than flu shots—and already very likely safe, yes, I will get a vaccination when my time comes.
I am old and have virtually every parameter for having bad trouble if I should get it. So I have been pretty much a hermit for the last 6 months. Getting to be a problem as I am not getting enough exercise and am getting weaker. Trying hard to work on that now.
I will be first in line when it becomes clear there is access to a workable vaccine. And my doctors will all help me do that if it becomes possible.
Sure hope it happens soon. The present situation is very bad for my mental health.
Can't you get outside? I've had my best year of riding in years, and thoroughly enjoyed being on the roads without buses!
I am not an anti-vaxer but have no plans on getting the vaccine when it's available. It takes awhile to work out potential side effects and I don't think a year or two is enough time. I've never had a flu shot either.
It’s interesting you condemn a new idea that hasn’t yet been attempted in this country while supporting something that’s been tried numerous times with zero success.
Hasn't been attempted? Uh, check out the Dakotas, Sweden, Brazil...many other places where restrictions have been pooh-poohed in the name of "liberty". We know what happens...we can model it out very accurately and it would lead to 1.0 - 2.5 million deaths in the US. Not an experiment we want to attempt. Get the vaccine guys
