If you go to Northampton, MA, at least a third of the cars are CT plates and I would guess it’s actually closer to 1/2.
Insa in springfield just opened up and it's right on I91. Even if CT passes this by the time it really gets into full effect you are looking at next spring/summer. Then the zoning pushback happens.
In Mass this gets complicated for a variety of reasons which is why a commission was established. Here's some classifications.
1) Medical - pretty simple to understand and few oppose (at least in the northeast)
2) Cultivation inside - Usually not an issue as long as there's mitigation for smells, light, water etc
3) Cultivation outside - this is getting to be a big issue due to smells.
4) R&D
5) Actual retail stores
6) Delivery - This can be iffy because at this point if one town bans it and another doesn't it can still go across.
Other issues
Can you grow your own? Well...why not?
Some weed stores look like Bradless during their last three weeks. Hardly any inventory, too much lighting and no staff. Others are legit.
Personally I think the money is really in hemp. I don't really have an interest in marijuana. But hemp is about 6x stronger than cotton. Think of all the clothing and bedding that can be replaced. Then paper, rope etc
I'm not really sure why the GOP is picking this hill to die on by filibustering the weed bill during the regular session. The Dems are going to call a special session to pass it and has majority support in the public. There are plenty of other bills worth trying to kill (the wiping of criminal convictions bill, for example) than this one.

Another example of party loyalty. It disgusts me on both sides.
They almost derailed it at the 11th hour (late night boozing?), but they passed it and Lamont will sign it. Amazing how something that's quite simple becomes incredibly complex once the CT legislature gets their hands on it.

Did they light up after drinking!?
