The state would be silly to vote this down, solely from a financial perspective.
But Lamont’s comment stating the illegality of weed targets “black and brown people”, arguing that it furthers systemic racism, is another example of him falling in line with the extreme left wing’s talking points. It’s almost as if the guy can’t think for himself, and promotes whatever his party’s flavor of the week is.

I can't believe he said that. That is SO dumb. And so untrue. If they were going the opposite route where they toughened penalties for people who deal it illegally, and then send them off to a private, for-profit prison with a sky-high recidivism rate, then I would agree. But if anything, this is the antithesis of racism.

Well , in all fairness, perhaps he is also cognizant of all the uppity white young people that have ventured into the inner cities to purchase illegal drugs from the residents there. In a way, that community at large has practical experience in the business.

He is a party loyalist. Full stop.
There are so many reasons to argue the positives of marijuana legalization, but he had to go there, because it’s the stance his national party has taken in the last year. He is a puppet.

Of course. However I presume the intended sarcasm may have been over your head.
Good move for the state all around. For black, brown and white.
About time. No more having to drive to Massachusetts.
