Hello.

I am in Westchester County and I want to try a new way of traveling. Not just for Thanksgiving, but generally speaking. Traffic on the bridges is always a variable, especially this time of year.

So I am here asking questions about taking the ferry from Bridgeport to Port Jefferson.

1. What is the cost to and from Port Jefferson?
2. Can you put your car on the ferry?
3. What about passengers? How many passengers are allowed and how does this affect the price?
4. What time does the last ferry back to Bridgeport end?

I want to hear from people, what has your experience has been like? I don’t want to just jump into the water without hearing from people who have experienced this venture.

Any advice helps.

Will you be using this primarily for leisure travel, or are you asking about a work day commute? If the latter, that would be brutal.

This website can answer nearly all of your questions:

I did it once for a Montauk trip. It's like riding on a ferry. It's a ferry.
I'd google the site for pricing.
