But FM radio is dead.

AM radio isn't far behind.

For talk, the good content has moved to podcasts.

For music, it's moved to Spotify, Apple Music, etc.

Evolve with the times. I miss FM radio but it's not the same.
FM has become completely corporatized and you hear the same 300 song playlist it seems. At least a number of AM stations especially in small cities and rural towns have listeners and tailor their sound and shows to meet the needs of the listening area unlike the metro areas which all have a cookie cutter sound these days.

AM can actually sound superior to FM if you listen to a CQUAM Stereo AM signal. I think WBLQ AM 1230 in Westerly, RI is still using an AM Stereo transmitter. WDRC AM and 91Q or AM 910 in Hartford used to many years ago and I remember hearing how great music sounded on my Carver TX11a tuner at that time.

Love Classical, not on the radio though. Nothing beats a Baroque symphony.

What about Point of No Return? That's a great one
Immigrant isn't one of those I don't need to hear anymore. I could hear it twice day no problem, the whole side one, and you crank that to 10. It's the only way.

I totally agree. This actually happened decades ago and anyone who programs radio stations today will argue that it's the only way to be successful. Don't even bother to suggest otherwise unless you like arguing. And yet, most people I see commenting on music discussion topics are unhappy with modern radio.

My personal opinion is that the true death of radio began when corporate decided that it was no longer important for stations to focus on new music. This focus worked very well for four decades, but suddenly it was very wrong. As a result, there have been fewer and fewer hit songs added with each passing year, which is why formats like classic rock and AC have so little content to pick from today.
