I am a seller and will have a closing on 2/17(Friday PM) for my house sale. I am moving to other state where the Eversource and CNG do not cover.
Eversource is the electricity supply company and CNG is for the Natual Gas for my house.
I don't want 'STOP SERVICE", IOW Elec. & Gas should continuously supplied for the buyer.
What should I do?
After closing, buyer will call utility company and switch the account holder?
If so, I don't need to call utility company? or do I still need to call to terminate my account?
Regardless of buyer call in, do I have to call?
If I have to call, what to say? Stop service? or terminate service? or close my acct? or switch service? or transfer service? and WHEN to CLOSE? on 2/18? or 2/17? or 2/20?

The new buyer needs to call to give info and setup their act and you need to call to say we are closing on X date and on that date do a reading, stop billing in my name. This is a very easy, routine process. Don’t worry about terminology, just say you are selling, here’s the date. Usually they only require you to call back on that date if the closing gets pushed back

Where do you live? CT?
In CT, Closing attorney takes care of only water bill, not Gas & Elec.
