Sanogo and Hawkins were stars but not mega superstars like her-- or like Ray Allen, Rip Hamilton, Emeka Okafor, Kemba Walker, Shabazz Napier: all of whom reached that level as juniors.

But players leave as soon as they can conceivably leave now--even though so many get lost in the shuffle in the NBA especially if they aren't lottery picks.

Plus there's the one and dones. And many don't even go for one year anymore: they go to the G League, something called Overtime Elite or overseas for a year. Then they go into the draft. The men's game is gong to be a bunch of pretty good players but not many truly elite players going forward. If the great ones ever set foot on a campus at all, it will only be for one year. And the NBA is talking about changing the age limit back to 18--so maybe not even one year.
True, and after Griner, even less women will exit for the pros, as many will likely not consider Asia now.

Clark was incredible. Great for the game.

If you combine the men's and women's basketball championships they are the school with the most titles at 16. I'm surprised they don't promote that more.

But it's sort of implied by "basketball capital of the world".

I'm sure the school promotes that for new recruits.

And they dismantled #18 Creighton. I haven't seen defense that suffocating since.............I'm too tired to think of anything. Never mind.

Taking a moment here away from the latest household income rankings , snowstorms and live updates on Fairfield 830g developments to point out the still Number One ranked Uconn Huskies are wiping the floor with the competition leaving a path of destruction in their wake led by Jersey native Coach Hurley.

They are truly incredible. Watched every game. Hopefully they will continue with a win over No. 15 Criegton tonight.

Though ranked their lowest in like 30 years at No. 15, the Women aren’t bad either.

The men have been superb, the women pretty good, also.

Anything short of Final 4 would be an upset for the men; IMO anything past sweet 16 is gravy for the women this year.
