Rundown buildings??? Colchester is anything but rundown. It’s a small town that’s become an outer suburb of Hartford. It has a charming town center on a beautiful Town Green. There are a lot of nice upscale subdivisions. It’s very nice.

Slightly off topic, but I've always wondered if the New Milford green was modeled after the (much older) Milford green.

Did settlers move from one town to the other?

They are roughly the same length/shape. Two of the longest greens in New England.

I believe New Milford was settled by settlers from Milford. Thus the name.

I doubt the New Milford Green was modeled directly after Milford’s. I’m not sure they are that similar.

They're very similar. Same shape, roughly the same dimensions. Check them out on a map. Have spent a lot of time in both areas.

Could anything be more on brand for this forum than bickering over the dimensions of town greens?

You have no idea what you're dealing with here StevieB do you? Nutmeggars are without question the most impassioned, dedicated and proud state citizens you'll find anywhere. I challenge anyone to find a more prideful group of personnel. CT, town centers and greens are the very fabric of their souls and they will feverishly defend their turf no holds barred.

Now I'm going to go queue up and listen to Stevie B's 1988 hit single I Wanna Be the One on my Apple Music app. THe Miami sound

Is there anything really special about Oxford? It's a decent town, but as far as I know there is nothing particularly special is there? I'm a bit curious as to why it is beating Portland? Am I missing something about the town?
