Towns with apartment living with a reasonable, less than 30 minute commute to John Dempsey Hospital. TIA

A few questions first:
  1. What is your budget and what do you expect for it?
  2. What type of community (rural, suburban, or urban) do you want?
  3. Are good schools important to you?
The answer to these will help us to direct you to the best town.

That said, there are many great towns you could look in. Let’s start with Farmington itself. It’s a great safe suburban community with many nice apartments. It has good shopping and excellent schools. It a very nice place to live and work.

West Hartford is a great more dense suburban community. It has a great town center with a lot of great shops and restaurants. It is a somewhat diverse, affluent community with excellent schools and wonderful amenities. It is arguably the best of Hartford’s suburbs. I hope this helps.

Avon is more rural. Canton is a little further out. Both have access to good shopping and restaurants on rte 44

Keep it simple and keep the commute short.......Farmington.

Or West Hartford where the supply of apartments should be much higher.

Farmington is loaded with apartments. One problem is traffic on rte 4 is heavy most of the time. Probably there are parts of Avon, maybe up rte 10? that are more direct and avoid most of that traffic.

There are other places in Farmington that will avoid Route 4 as well. I'd stick with Farmington and West Hartford. If the OP can't find anything there, expand to Avon & Newington.
