I am looking for NY style pizza. I recently moved to Quaker Hill and Love pizza. I have worked in pizza for many years and it is like water to me. I need it.

That being said I am looking for a good pizza place. I have tried Mr. Pizza in Norwich, Friendly Pizza in Uncasville, Campus Pizza in New London, and one other I don't remember. But none of them are what I am looking for.

Any NY transplants with a suggestion? Please.

Thanks

I've always enjoyed Illiano's in New London (there is also one in Norwich, Old Lyme and Colchester). I don't know if it's exactly what you are looking for, but it's very good pizza!

Yummy Yummy in East Lyme is owned and run by a New Yorker. I cannot vouch for the pizza personally because I don't like pizza, but my husband, a New Yorker, likes it.

That is not the Yummy Yummy* in Niantic, which is a Chinese place, but the one at Flanders Four Corners. I95 South to Exit 75, right at McDonald's onto Rt. 161, and it's just a hundred or so feet up on your left.

*That was a big mess when we ended up with two Yummy Yummys, but both were so happy with the name, they kept them.

Thank you all, I can't wait to try them all. Once I do I will report back and let you know. As an update, Asylum Pizza in Norwich is so-so.

I think you'll like Illiano's in New London.

I live on Long Island now and Illiano's is as close as you're going to get to NY pizza, without going to New Haven.

PS. Since you are right in Quaker Hill, check out Acropolis Pizza. AWESOME calzones and onion rings!

I think I found a winner. Illianos in Waterford is what I tried. They were really good. It looks like they have many other stores as well.

You had to pass an engine house, fire house?? pizza on the way to Asylum. It's in an old fire house, we used to like it. Engine 9 maybe. It's on rte 32 in Norwich, past Uncas, but before downtown.
