That doesn't surprise us. Would this hold true even if some of the proceeds went to charity?

I'm pretty sure it's illegal no matter what..
I was shown something on a state website that stated it, but cant seem to find it now.

Any suggestions on what the state agency is that could definitively answer that question? My wife saw an Oprah show where some folks successfully raffled off their home so it's got to be legal somewhere I'd imagine?

I'm in Georgia and in the process of relocating and a home raffle seems (on the surface) a really creative option if it's legal here.

Default Connectiuct State Statutes Sections 7-170 / 7-186

Pertaining to Bazaars and raffles
Connecticut State Statutes Sections 7-170 / 7-186
CHAPTER 98* MUNICIPAL POWERS (http://www.cga.ct.gov/2007/pub/Chap098.htm#Sec7-170.htm - broken link)

Pertaining to Bazaars and raffles

Sec. 7-177. Prizes.
Public Act 81-393 made it legal in 1981 to raffle real property
Public Act 89-214 made it illegal in 1989

So, yes it is illegal currently in CT

!Sorry for the typo in the header!
