Hello,

I have to make a decision on where to live and Stamford is the area where I want to be. I'd prefer Stamford because it's less expensive and closer to work but I'm worried about the crime in the area

I've read on here that Stamford is safe but what about Liberty Street? I don’t know anything about Stamford and would really appreciate if someone can guide me. I am looking to buy a place so safely, convenience, schools, property value, night life etc are all important factors. It will be great if you can also guide me to specific areas where I should be looking. I work in Greenwich, CT and would like to buy a place that is not more than 10-15 minutes drive to work.

Thanks

Stay away. Stillwater is a cesspool.

We once rented an apartment on Liberty St. I would never recommend it! It was several years ago, but I doubt it's improved drastically since then. Our cars were broken into repeatedly, and we were always finding crack vials on the ground. After about 4 months we broke our lease and fled.

That's unfortunately in the worst neighborhood in Stamford. I would not buy there. Move anywhere else in Stamford but that 'hood.

Hi,

Thank you all for replying back regarding Liberty Street in CT. Can you let me know what you guys think about Glenbrook Road and Highland Road? I saw some apartments there and I really liked it.

Thanks

Both areas are 100 times better than Liberty St on the west side. Glenbrook is great for the most part, while the Highland Ave area is right downtown and is also a good area.

That area is fine. It does get congested and noisy during rush hour time periods though. Also, if you're referring to that apt. complex whose name starts with an "A", you might want to tour each of the floors and wings of the complex before you sign a lease. They've had(IMHO) issues at this location with unkempt corridors. I haven't noted that problem at their other buildings though.

Thanks so much for all of this information! I was wondering if anyone could provide any information on the area around Liberty Commons Condos/Apartments? I have heard the buildings are very nice, but I was wondering about the area itself? Thanks so much!

Still a cesspool and that won't change anytime in the foreseeable future. Shootings/Muggings/Drug Dealing/Etc. are all well represented in this area. Pity the sucker that bought a ~$400K townhouse in such a sh*thole.
