The sound on our sound bar has been cutting out intermittently. So I was experimenting with other inputs to see if it was the cable or the sound bar itself with a 1/8" jack cable running fro the TV headphone jack to the bar. I was kind of surprised how much the sound quality was lost not using the optical cable.
