Telescope selection guide (reviews)

After reading this Telescope Selection Guide, I am interested in buying a telescope. Can anyone suggest some good beginner's telescopes based on your personal experiences?

You might want to post this in the "Hobbies" forum. You are likely to get a lot more responses there. Or even the photography forums as there are a few folks there who are into Astrophotography.

There are a lot of reviews online if you just Google it. You'll need to first establish what you budget will be.
