Hello everyone! I am looking for a rental, cabin or house, with small barn/pasture for my 2 horses. Ideally, the Cumberland Plateau would be great, be open to all areas. As far as work, I have experience as a Vet Tech (large/small animals), equine massage & equine dental tech, so would be looking to work with an Equine Veterinarian if possible. Looking for something to rent $1000 & under if at all possible! Any information or leads would be greatly appreciated, thank you

So can anyone please tell me where I might find rentals? I've looked on craigslist, nothing much there. I also wanted to know what other places would be good for horses & nice country living? Any information would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

Maybe you can place an ad in the local paper requesting your needs. If you need a short term rental for your horses i can possibly help you with a barn and 6 acres of pasture in Ckvl city limits.

place a paid ad here

Herald Citizen - Online Edition - Cookeville, TN

or a free one here

Local Sales Network - RENTALS & ROOMMATES - Go LSN!

good luck with your search, Welcome to Cookeville

Thank you scrantonscrambler, I appreciate your help. We will not be relocating for another 2-3 months, but want to get my ducks in order! I would like to keep in touch with you, as I may need to take you up on the short term rental for my horses. They are well behaved geldings Cannot wait to move to Tennessee, left NJ 2 years ago to move here, west coast of Florida...ready for 4 seasons again & more trees lol

You will find 4 seasons here minus the snow shovel part . Good luck with your relocation. We left NJ almost 10 yrs ago, tried rural NE PA for 3 yrs and didnt like it at all. Zero regrets coming to Cookeville !!

FYI in the Ckvl city limits folks are limited to 1 large animal per 1.5 acres as i recall, horses, cows, goats are fine. Pigs and chickens may be considered nuisance animals in the city limits (but I've seen them). From what I see outside the city limits anything goes and that is where you will probably find the type of land you are looking for. No shortage of that type of homes and land for sale/rent here.
