I am in Tulsa, and I am heading out, likely in a day or two. I would like to stay for a week. Unfortunately there isn't a Value Place Motel except for Lebanon that is an hour away.

Is there a low cost alternative there in Cookeville? I see the Key West has a micro and fridge for 42 a night.

Alpine lodge no fridge micro for 44 with their coupon.

So hard to beat Value Place at 179 a week, with a kitchen!

Or can you suggest anywhere else that is really safe (late 40's female here).

First I've searched craigslist to see if anyone rents out a room, but all I see are listings for the college kids. Do folks not rent out a spare bedroom by the month?

I hope I can garner all the "feeling of living there" in Cookeville in one short week!

I"m also going to visit Maryville, but I am rooting for Cookeville. I'll be staying at a Value Place in Alcoa.

Please advise me, so I have a lovely stay!

Oh, can you recommend any buffets? It doesn't look like I'll be cooking in Cookeville!

I dont know what the rates are but most hotels will cut you a deal if you rent for the week. Talk to them and see what kind of deal you can get.

I dont know of people renting spare rooms by the month. I would never do that. It sounds like a lot of trouble. I would say you wont have to worry about safety.

Cookeville has a Golden Corral that is a buffet and Chineese buffets. If your really trying to go cheap on meals check and see if you can eat at TTU's caffertia for staff/faculity and visitors or try the hospital cafertia.
