After a 14 1/2 hour drive we got here to Algood early Saturday morning and we are done with Florida. Got cable/internet hooked up last night. Heading on down to get our Tennessee drivers licenses later today. Interesting afternoon yesterday with the tornado alert. Actually looking forward to the cooler weather. Last Thursday in Florida it was around 90 and the sweat was pouring off of me while I was loading the vehicles.

Welcome! I like how you've changed your location to "Algood TN now; finished with Florida." There are several of us Florida refugees around. If you have a chance, go have lunch at Algood City Diner. I've heard it's goood.

Welcome to Tennessee from another Florida refugee. After 35 years sweating in SWFL we had enough. Enjoy the beauty and low cost of living here.

Welcome to TN. I've also been enjoying the return to the cold weather the last little while. My last visit to Cookeville seemed like a mob scene, either that or I'm used to the slow life now. Been on the Plateau for a year now (the Cove). Don't miss Florida, or even being a snowbird, at all. There's a few long time commenters who are finally coming to Tennessee..

Congratulations on finally making that move to Tennessee. My wife and I will hopefully be there by mid-August if all goes as planned.

My wife and I hope to do exactly the same thing in a year or 2. Fed up with Florida, and we'd like to get closer to our grandson in Ohio. How's the internet service there?
