Hi All,

My boyfriend and I will be relocating to Corpus in the next few months. We are looking to rent a house w/ a yard because we have two big dogs (German Shepherd and a Lab). What are the safer parts of town? Where do you recommend? I would like it to be close to Del Mar College and to his place of employment (L-3 Vertex Aerospace). Any tips would be SO helpful.

Thank you!

Look for a place within a few blocks of Alameda street, from where it intersects with Staples (AKA Six Points) to the University. If you look at a map this will make sense.

There's also lots of housing south of SPID between Kostoryz and Rodd Field Rd., but the farther you are from Kostoryz, the farther you are from Del Mar.

If you find a particular house online and want to ask about the area, that might be easier.

I recommend the south side, something south of Holly/Saratoga in between Staples and Airline. My wife teaches math at Del Mar and she has a 15-20 minute commute, so it's not too bad from Del Mar. From Airline @ SPID to the navy base is no more than 10 minutes.
