If we are talking somewhere around ATX/SA I would think the logical choice would be somewhere about an hour or so east of 35 or even east of Austin.

I agree. Somewhere between San Antonio and Austin is clearly the best location if it did happen

Land is too expensive. Out towards Tyler would be a better option if they wanted another park. I doubt Disney needs or wants another park in the USA.

Somewhere in the San Antonio & Austin area makes the most sense BY FAR than anywhere else in the country.

That's the rumor I've been hearing as well.

A major Disney investment in a state that bans or heavily restrictions abortion rights would lead to significant blowback in the media and among Disney staff and fans. I'm not taking a stance, just pointing out the reality that corporations like Disney are very much influenced by certain political views these days. And unlike a big tech company which can quietly move low profile parts of their enterprise such as manufacturing, distribution and service to a place, a Disney theme park would be accompanied by a huge PR exercise so there's hardly any way of downplaying it.

Those rumors have been around for at least 40+ years. Probably by land owners wanting to boost prices. Disney doesn't build in developed areas. They look for unwanted land in the middle of nowhere so they can build their own infrastructure from the ground up. Anaheim and Orlando were remote wastelands when those parks were built. Disney isn't interested in locals either, they cater to internationals as much as they do top 10% Americans by income.
