Exactly.

It's not like they're doing away with their smoking lounges, they're just creating news.

That was my first thought when I heard the news. I s'pose folks will bust through their doors just itching to give CVS their patronage because of this.

That or they got a visit from the Attorney General's Office. AG seems selective about what they pursue nowadays. or both.

but this decision was from self interest only

Many prescription drugs can cause liver, heart, and other damage I'm surprised you didn't know that. The drug companies are just as bad as the tabacco companies. If the drug companies are so good why do they keep making up new illnesses and telling people to ask their doctor for these drugs. Why should someone ask a doctor for a certain drug? That right there tells you something is up. A doctor is trained to TELL YOU what drug is best for you. The drug business is just that a business to sell more drugs.
Have you ever heard of a doctor prescribing cigarettes as a remedy to heart disease, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, or any other ailment? Well no, since cigarettes cause all of those things and they also have no health benefit. Drugs for the most part serve some purpose. Cigarettes serve none. There's not even a comparison.

Yup, out here in the Wild Wild West. Almost any place with a cash register sells alcohol.

I have CVS right up the street from where I live. It is convenient. But, while I am not a smoker, I will say, if they stop selling cigarettes, big deal, I would then just go across the street to the little convenience store and buy them. So, I really don't think people are going to care or mind. There is always somewhere else to get them.

and on another note, my father is 86, my mother is 78, both were terrible smokers....my father doesn't even have high blood pressure.....
I am not a smoker and have high blood pressure, figure that one out.....

so I don't really believe all the hipe that smoking is definetely going to kill you.

I just think it is a disgusting thing to do, but whatever....

Wondering if all of the staunch Catholic folks would applaud vehemently if CVS stopped selling birth control pills & condoms......

And flock to CVS to give them their patronage......

Hahahahahaha! Thanks for the laugh this morning. If you truly believe that the CVS announcement is anything other than a marketing ploy ~ then I have a bridge to sell you. Target doesn't sell cigarettes either and who cares?

When they quit passing out painkillers to those addicted, quit selling alcohol, and potato chips, then I might believe them.

The last time I checked doctors were the ones who wrote those prescriptions to the addicted. Not sure how that applies to CVS Not sure how potato chips or alcohol have any relevance to a toxic substance that has no other purpose than to cause disease. Chips, sodas and other snacks aren't detrimental if had moderately. And alcohol has health benefits.
