I recall vaguely a story I heard about a couple of kids dropping objects from an overpass. Driver pulled over and managed to chase down one of the kids. Police showed up and held the kid. Father had the audacity to give an attitude to the guy who held his kid from running. Also to the PD for detaining his kid. Went to court and the father used the "I can't be by my kid 24/7" excuse. Mind you I heard this story some 20yrs ago. Not sure if anyone else recalls those particular details.
Granted nowadays that information/news is instantly avaliable on the internet. Kids can learn about all the stupid things one can do. Most don't seem to pay attention to the pain and suffering it can easily cause nor does it seem to dawn on them that if they caught it can follow them for the rest of their lives.
Yeah,,, as if, as if, no one ever did things like that, maybe not with rocks, when they where a kid???
Water balloons used to happen. I never did it myself but I remember hearing about it. You would think that anyone who reached their teen years would have a basic understanding of what a brick or giant rock would do when it fell a long distance into a moving vehicle. Kind of hard to play the "I didn't know..." card.
Things just seem to escalate over the years don't they?
Depends on the age of the juveniles. If they're at least 15, they should be tried as adults. Maybe not get life (young, stupid kids) but 7 years each maybe. 7 years is a long time to a minor.

Give them 7, they'll serve 4. Not enough, IMO. This woman's life and career as well as her face, have been destroyed permanently. I so hope the kids' parents have some money, this family deserves every cent they can get, too.

Are you kidding??? I threw eggs at cars a coupe times when I was 13 or 14,, but never ever something that could kill people. This wasn't a small rock they picked up, it was a huge, heavy rock (football sized per the article) that they deliberately waited to throw until a car was below them and they were almost guaranteed a serious injury or death.
These were not 13 year olds, they DROVE to the scene, got out on the overpass and threw the rock. They got caught because they then drove past the accident scene to check out the damage they caused at least 4 times, enough to arouse the suspicion of the police on the scene.
In the meantime, that woman's entire face is being held together by plates and screws, not counting of course the parts of her skull they had to remove to allow for her brain to swell. They had to build her a new temporary bridge over her nose, because hers was gone. She has frontal lobe brain damage, which is the "personality" center and the most advanced area of the brain. She will never, ever be the same person. She was a language arts teacher, she'll be lucky if she can ever read a book again, let alone comprehend it. She has probably dozens of surgeries ahead of her over the next few years.
In any society without values continuously happen similar cases: from Germany till UK.Too much PC games, alcohol and marijuana, too few book reading, church going and good education.
