View Poll Results: If there was an Ebola vaccine, would you take it?
Yes, I'd be one of the first to get a vaccine. Better safe than sorry. 41 11.20%
If it came to my region, then yes, I'd get vaccinated. 67 18.31%
Too soon, but I wouldn't rule it out in the future. 192 52.46%
Rush-to-market vaccines are dangerous. No way would I get a vaccine. 77 21.04%

There is a good chance the person would be so sick they would die before they could carry out any plans at all.

I find your statement about 9/11 unimpressive. People also made statements about terrorists poisoning the water supply for cities or building an atomic weapon. Those things didn't happen. What we do know about terrorists is that they typically tend to explode bombs. I don't live my life conjuring up fantasy scenarios about what terrorists can and cannot do. If I lived like that I probably wouldn't be able to work and raise a family.

Its not unreasonable to ask these kinds of questions. However, I find people who continually dwell on these sorts of things to be a bit unhinged.
Please explain how "Customs" enforcement would find or deal with an active, infectious person with Ebola who simply walks over the border from Mexico?

Are those people going to think "wait, I feel sick, let me buy an airline ticket so I can be caught and provided with medial care?"

Ebola won't get to South America and Mexico?

This is like requiring the driver of a car to use a seat belt while everyone else in the car does not. The hypocrisy, stupidity and ineffectiveness of government at work.

The extra precautions should make you feel more secure. They're not doing it because they think the world is coming to an end. They merely want to ensure they identify every ebola carrier as early as possible and minimize the exposure. They wouldn't be taking these measures if the Dallas hospital hadn't screwed up so badly. The mistakes that have been made has cause them to take it more seriously. They're trying to prevent one to four extra people from dying due to contact to one patient. Taking it seriously and containing it while there are only a few people to trace is the smart thing to do.

So on the cable news channels, they say that Thomas Eric Duncan died at about 7:51am (I assume that's local time).

They are now taking the same precautions at the boarders as they do at the airports. People crossing legally will be screened for ebola. As for illegal border crossings, it's not easy to cross the Mexican border when you're healthy. People die doing it. I highly doubt someone with ebola symptoms would make it across very easily.
