I'm a very calm person; however, I get very, very angry when I have to go grocery shopping on the weekend. It literally ruins my entire weekend.
My head would explode if I participated in Black Friday.
You get mad going grocery shopping? My dad does that to relax. That's how he unwinds and enjoys the weekend. He likes to go around to his specialty delis and putter around the supermarket. Different strokes for diff folks, lol.
I went to Target on Thanksgiving for one thing. By the time the doors opened at 6 PM the line was completely wrapped around the store. I'd guess there were easily 400 people in line. Someone filmed the line as it went in. No rushing or big fights, but I did have people running into my ankles with their carts. I got what I wanted and was out before the checkout line could build. The Golden Corral across the street did have a near riot when someone tried to cut in line there, though.
Oh yeah, I live in Idaho and I didn't see a single black person so take your racism and stuff it.
People don't do that at Wal-Mart on Black Friday. That's faked. I know people who work at Wal-Mart. It's not like that at all.
No, it's worse http://www.nytimes.com/2010
So maybe not where you live, but.... lemmetellya, people certainly can be animals at black friday sales. After 20+ years in retail I swear it brings out the very worst side of a lot of people.
I am typing this just before midnight, when many stores open....
The actually sad thing is, this will not be around much longer, as internet commerce continues to gnaw at retail.....This will soon be a relic of a diff age, like those old 1950's ads of people eating nasty hot dogs...
....
Shop On-line
Lol, so this won't be around for long? Surely you jest.
Where there's a box or two of kitchen towels on sale there'll be dozens of women fighting over them. Stores are still crowded and parking spots are few and far between at the malls. The frenzied crowds you see today are as bad (if not worse) than yesterday's. Just like home shopping channels, online shopping is simply another way to shop; it hasn't supplanted going to the store.
P.S. Plenty of people are still enthusiastically wolfing down those nasty "50s hot dogs."
