What's even more important is what they were doing at the time the event happened. Which was their job, currently sitting in their cruiser. I realize where your post is TRYING to go, but it has no legs to get there.

...an officer gets paid the same whether he WALKS to a crime scene and takes a report, or whether he RUNS to a crime scene looking for potential escaping suspects on the way and stops them for questioning, etc.
Since officers are being harassed and KILLED for doing the latter...and our country's leaders are throwing them under the bus at the same time...exactly why should an officer give a damn?
Walk to the scene, take notes, walk away. That's what the public is demanding, and the officer gets paid the same whether they actually try to do their job, or just do lip service to their job. So, really, who's left? The hardcore people who care about right and wrong and their communities more than they do their own lives? All of those are being or have been run off...
Time to wake up, America. You're going to be whittled down to the police force you've been asking for sooner rather than later...One that won't lift a finger to help you...because you've told them in blood and attorney fees not to.
Forensic evidence from multiple autopsies did INDEED corroborate Wilson. If there were ANY way to have hung him, it certainly would have been done.

I will NEVER believe that Mike (with no history of mental illness, no criminal record, no HARD drugs) would even THINK about going for an officer's gun on the OTHER SIDE of the car as if he really stood a chance in reaching it.
When politicians see the justice system and decision of twelve citizens as the problem yet ignore those arsons and looting and their supporters; we have a breakdown of law and order quite simply. Yahoo looked at arrest in Ferguson and the largest numbers where from New York and California listed as home address on arrest reports. Says a lot. Reminds me of Obama when his friend got arrest for DOC at burglar alarm at his house when asked for ID. Obama said the police acted stupidly then when on to say he was not familiar with the details of what happened. There is the problem.
