Woman ordered to remove hijab files suit against police

Quote:
A Muslim woman has filed a lawsuit accusing police of violating her constitutional rights by making her remove her headscarf after they arrested her for driving on a suspended license.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in federal court here, asks for the Dearborn Heights, Mich., Police Department to modify its present policy so a Muslim woman can wear her hijab during booking procedures.

I think Michigan might be the only state that bows down to all minorities demands more than California does.

This krapola is insidious. Soon we'll see shariah law running parallel to ours, and this is how it starts.

"To have her hair and neck uncovered in public ... is ... deeply humiliating, violating, and defiling experience."

Is it more humiliating than getting the cuffs on and tossed into the back seat of patrol car? She should have thought about all that while she's tooling around the town without a valid license!!

It's like a giant game of chess. You strategically place your men in order to checkmate and win the game.

Americans are lousy at playing chess. They don't even know the game when they see it being played out in front of their eyes.

Sorry but police procedure take precedence over someone's silly religious rights. I don't see the police laying down their guns in deference to when confronting a Christian suspect who's religious code states "Thou shall not kill".

I'm honestly starting to believe all Muslims have a secret agenda to supplant the Constitution with Sharia Law. It makes me shudder to even think it. We're facing a very serious threat from this group of people, and we need to wake up.

Well in her defense all she did was ask a female officer to take the picture, she didn't have an issue with the actual removal of the hijab.

But your right Linda she should have thought about that before violating the law in the first place. She put herself in that situation.

Indeed and do one of you think that their country would bow down to us as a visitor ? I can almost assuredly say He** No they would not and we don't go into foreign countrys demanding anything . If she does not follow the rules of this country she suffers the consquences regardless and yeah that plane out of JFK flys both ways . Don't like it ? then leave . She had no right to demand anything and yes think how humiliating it would have been for her to had handcuffs put on and put in the back seat of a police car . Im tired of these people coming to our country and thinking they don't have to follow the rules .

I think a mug shot should look like the person looks most of the time.

If a bald man always wears a hat, then he's going to be more recognized if he's shown wearing a hat in a mug shot. Same gown with a guy who hasn't trimmed his beard in 20 years. The cops don't require a bearded man to shave before a mug shot, do they?

So it is with a woman who always covers her hair every time she goes out in public. Why show her hair if it's never going to be seen in public?
