MMR measles vaccine clinical trial results FAKED by Big Pharma - shocking U.S. court documents reveal all.
According to two Merck scientists who filed a False Claims Act complaint in 2010 -- a complaint which was unsealed three years ago -- vaccine manufacturer Merck knowingly falsified its mumps vaccine test data, spiked blood samples with animal antibodies, sold a vaccine that actually promoted mumps and measles outbreaks, and ripped off governments and consumers who bought the vaccine thinking it was "95% effective."
Perhaps we should wait until we find out whether the accusations have any merit before passing judgment?

(Japan uses a different formula that does not utilize cell lines derived from abortions. IMO, the problem is that it would cut into their profits to "allow" a competitor to offer their version. They are also unwilling to bring back the separate M & M vaccines for those who find the R objectionable).

The problems with lying, is that no one can tell for sure when one is actually telling the truth. The accusation that the mumps vaccine isn't as effective as Merck promised and labeled their products not only affects the company's bottom line - it affects lives. It affects people's decisions whether to use their medicines and their vaccines. And their history means something...
Jenny McCarthy has nothing to do with it. Merck is doing a good job of decreasing consumer confidence all by themselves. Unfortunately, they have the monopoly on the MMR vaccine in the US. People are basically stuck with them, or they choose to go without.

The way you quoted makes it difficult to respond point by point.
However:
There are patients who wish Vioxx was still available. Merck should not withhold any study results on the drug, obviously. However, it was very effective for many people, who would have continued the drug even if the risks were higher than Merck claimed.
Gardasil is not ineffective. It is highly effective, and a new version has just been approved by the FDA.
Why should Merck have to alter a vaccine because you do not like the production method? That has nothing to do with safety or effectiveness. Perhaps you and those who feel the way you do should put up the money to produce a rubella vaccine (and separate measles and mumps vaccines) that you find acceptable. That would apply to other vaccines grown in cell cultures. Note that the Catholic Church deems it acceptable to take such vaccines.

The allegation is that Merck overstated the effectiveness of the vaccine. However, it must be doing something, because the US does not have many mumps cases each year.
"In 2011-2013, there were several smaller mumps outbreaks reported on college campuses in California, Virginia, and Maryland. However, these all had limited spread, and national case counts for these years were at usual levels (several hundred cases per year).
In 2009- 2010, two large outbreaks occurred.
One outbreak involved about 3,000 people and mostly affected high school-aged students who were part of an insular religious community in New York City and attended schools in which they had very close contact. The index case-patient was an 11-year-old member of the religious community who had returned from the United Kingdom where a large mumps outbreak was occurring.
The second outbreak involved about 500 people, mostly school-aged children, in the U.S. Territory of Guam.
In 2007-2008, the number of reported cases returned to usual levels (several hundred cases per year), and outbreaks involved fewer than 20 cases.
In 2006, the United States experienced a multi-state mumps outbreak involving more than 6,500 reported cases. This resurgence predominantly affected college-aged students living in the Midwest, with outbreaks occurring on many different Midwestern college campuses."
