The newly announced Republican presidential candidate told CNN's Dana Bash on Tuesday that he will sign up for health care coverage through the Affordable Care Act -- a law he has been on a crusade to kill.
"We'll be getting new health insurance and we'll presumably do it through my job with the Senate, and so we'll be on the federal exchange with millions of others on the federal exchange," Cruz said.
Asked whether he would accept the government subsidy available to lawmakers and congressional staffers for their health care coverage through the ACA, Cruz said he will "follow the text of the law."
Why are the MSM freaking out over this? Yes, Cruz is against this, but should he go without the cheapest option (when you count the lawmaker subsidies) available to him and his family under the law regardless? The freak out excitement by the left is almost akin to being shocked that people who are against the current tax code (and who have tried to get it repealed) are paying taxes/taking advantage of loopholes allowed under the law. For a similar reason, I'm not upset with Warren Buffet for taking advantage of tax loopholes, though he also calls for higher taxes on the wealthy.
Also, keep in mind that this shift is the result of his wife suspending her employment with Goldman Sachs (he had health insurance through her job previously) for the duration of his campaign, which I don't think will last very long.

Uh, because he is one of the giant mouth cons constantly bleeting about how horrible this is yet if it weren't for this, they wouldn't have the option to sign up for less expensive healthcare. Surely you can see how interesting that is.

I suppose because it shows Ted Cruz is an insincere moron that wants your family to die.

And when Warren Buffet, who is against the current tax code and advocates for higher taxes on high wager earners, takes advantage of the tax loopholes in the current system, I say who cares? You can be against something for constitutional, etc., purposes, but still take advantage of legal benefits. It's not his fault that the Congress put itself under the exchanges, something that Mr. Cruz had not say/vote in.

Lol, do you not understand hypocrisy when it's blaring right in front of your face? Wow.

Ah, not the same thing buddy, Ted Cruz can go without health insurance, you've got to file your taxes the right way. Ted Cruz, just like the rest of those stupid tea party clowns are not really against the affordable care act, it is just something they say.
