That's a myth.

Even the ancient Greeks knew the earth was round. Eratosthenes calculated the circumference fairly accurately. Eratosthenes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One reason the Portuguese (probably the best navigators at the time) would not finance Columbus's westward voyage to Asia was they had a more accurate idea of the earth's circumference than Columbus, who thought it was much shorter than it actually is.

Luckily for Columbus there was a previously unknown land mass between Europe and Asia, or he never would have been heard from again. Of course he thought it was Asia.

If anyone can be trusted to get the mail delivered, it would be the dude that flew undetected in a no fly zone to hand deliver letters to the clowns on capitol hill.

I am glad he warned our security geniuses of an obvious way to fly anything onto the mall.

Thanks, Old Town.

Doug Hughes, mailman, is a better American than those of you who think he should go to jail. And a hell of a lot better than most congressweasels.

And why hasn't Peter Alexander been tapped as Brian Williams' permanent replacement? He has an easy authority in his tone and manner, and the same bland/blond looks as Williams, which viewers love.

I don't know about all the flippant responses here, but if he broke a law, he should be prosecuted. After all we are a country of laws that are meant to be enforced.

The people that responded wrt Illegal aliens are quite right in their responses too. They broke our laws and should be prosecuted too.

Yet, more serious offenders of the law, are able to move next door and commit horrific crimes against innocent and vulnerable people. Where is the justice there??

Wish I had a gyrocopter to travel between Colorado Springs and Denver, that would be great to fly at 45 miles per hour and be above all that traffic. Some day, that may be the norm!!!
