Long story short, a mother and daughter who are Section 8 tenants in the community, held an unpermitted, mass party (open attendance, promoted over social media). They advertised a pool party in the community's park and pool by sending out open invitations over social media.
The town pool is only open to registered residents with ID. If a resident wants to hold a pool party, they may, by applying for a permit, and the total number of people attending the pool party is limited to 20. They did not apply for a permit, and they had apparently about a hundred teens show up, expecting a pool party. When they were not allowed entry to the pool area, they started jumping the fence. That's when police were called.
The officer who drew his gun apparently did so not in response to the teenage girl, but to a man whose actions and motions indicated he might be about to draw a weapon.
I'd like to see where the evidence of them being on Section 8 is, especially considering a quick glance at homes in that neighborhood show houses in the $300,000 range.
Section 8 housing does not put people in expensive family homes in HOA-run communities.
This is what Section 8 housing does to a neighborhood of hard working people.
No evidence of them being on Section 8, nor does it even make any sense.
Why would the PHA operate Section 8 housing in an expensive, upper-middle-class community? Most HOAs wouldn't even allow this to happen. PHA has government-imposed limits on how much it can give out in vouchers.
