The whole concept of allowing lobbying was to end the under-the-table bribery. Now we have the same bribery going on, only it's out in the open. Time for two things; the American voters to DEMAND an end to corporate donations and to instate term limits.

You'll find those on opposite side did same. People are free to support and even donate to causes they wish to and have a interest in.
It's corruption. "People" don't even have a say in it. Common people don't even have a clue what the hell is in the bill. I doubt most people would be able to find the time in their daily lives to read it let alone understand all of it.
People making donations to politicians for favors? You may call that freedom but I know it to be corruption, the same corruption that has existed in politics since one family started hoarding garbanzo beans in the first villages 1000s of years ago.
Seems to me we're supposed to be America, seems to me we're supposed to be above this corruption. "Government for the people by the people".

Yeah right.

Talking Here’s how much corporations paid US senators to fast-track the TPP bill

From the link:

  • The average Republican member received $19,673.28 from corporate TPP supporters.
  • The average Democrat received $9,689.23 from those same donors.

Call me Claude Rains.

Just as your individual rights end when they start infringing on other people's rights, the right to donate to the cause should be restricted when it starts corrupting the democratic system and interfering with public good. The lawmakers should not be allowed to sell out the best interests of those who voted them into the office to advance the interests of those who pay them. Especially since a lot of these special interests are no longer American and don't necessarily work to benefit this country. "Corporations are people" is BS and a lot of these corporations are no longer American corporations. But I have very little hope that this would ever be fixed.

Politicians are nothing but 'whores for sale'!

More factories will be closed and moved to Asia. There's no incentive to open a factory here while in Asia the sweat shops will still pay people $1/day to those Nike Sneakers that kids pay $200 for.

In Florida, millions of dollars got spread around by red light camera companies to get the red light camera law passed. They now spread millions of dollars to stop any attempt to get rid of the law or amend the original law. Lots of money from special interests getting what they want.

This is the most important issue for most Americans economic well being. And no one cares much. At least NAFTA was debated widely and that was before we knew for certain the damage it would do. Now, no cares that we are getting super-NAFTA lol.

I can expect Republicans to support TPP, but for Obama and some Democrats too as well, just shows the latter only cause is the complete destruction of the US and middle class.
