She tried to get out of jail by taking a plea deal but is now upset because she is getting 23 years when she thought she could literally get away with murder and be sent to a mental hospital. Tewana Sullivan had a blood alcohol level of .41 at the time of the murder.

Didn't see a mention in either linked article about the defendants political views. She could have been a Romney supporter for all we know.

Maybe it's because the glut of articles mentioning the race of cops ands sometimes even private citizens killing blacks that black on white crime pales in comparision?

Doesn't matter now. Justice was dealt properly. Said killer is going to do the time. Killing someone under the influence of alcohol is 2nd degree murder, so it carries a sentence of 15 to life. The woman got 23 years, so she will do the time.

Some have speculated Tewana Sullivan is a Democrat because the media is hiding her political affiliation.

At her sentencing, the judge apologized to the victim's family for the actions of the killer. I guess he felt someone had to.
