Any suggestions on how to protect yourself from the stray bullet threat? Even if you are armed you can still be taken out without notice.

These things don't seem to be all that rare.

Accept it. It is collateral damage of the 2nd Amendment.

Sounds like this woman got hit in the head. A vest wouldn't have helped.

These stray bullet shootings are not all that rare.

For one, don't live in bad areas. Of course, for a lot of people without options, that isn't realistic.

And even that is no guarantee - idiot hunters manage to kill a few people each year who live in rural, quiet areas.

Bullet-proof glass on all windows? Plate-metal linings in all walls?

Of course, just as many people shoot themselves while 'cleaning' their guns (that's what they tell the EMTs and law enforcement after they put a bullet through their leg/groin/face while practicing their quick-draw or Dirty Harry routines, because being an inept gun-cleaner sounds less pathetic than being an emotionally-retarded idiot).

If you own a firearm, at least make sure you attend a gun-safety class. Just not this one:

How do you stop a bolt of lightning. How do you win the lottery. All random.

It's just a darn shame that you can be sitting in your own house minding your own business and you get taken out by some idiot. Even if you a fully armed they can still get you.

People slip and fall in their own homes and die all the time, far more frequently than this happens.

So, what do you suggest?

There are rules for drinking and driving, but it's a darn shame when you are on your way to Target and a drunk swerves into your lane and kills your entire family, what do you suggest?

So, provide link's to "these stray bullets are not all that rare."

Notice how you provided not a single link to back up anything you said, I wonder why?

Lets also provide that if you take out gang violence and suicide, you cut your entire "gun violence" in half...

Hell lets take it further...there are approx 30,000 gun related deaths yearly, half are suicide....how many people are killed while driving by drunk divers yearly?

It's a darn shame you can be driving to wal-mart and get killed by a drunk driver....why, when there are all these laws saying you cannot drive drunk?
