Not again...

Texas officer shoots dead unarmed, black college student

Quote:
A Texas police officer fatally shot an unarmed, black 19-year-old college football player suspected of driving a car through the window of a Dallas-area car dealership, authorities said on Saturday.

Police in Arlington, a city in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, said the officer, who was still in training, responded early on Friday to a call about a burglary in progress.

With a title like that you know that yellow journalism is alive and well.

The correct title should be burglar shot by police after struggle. I mean lets not forget he was committing a burglary "a felony" and decided to go for even a bigger stupid prize.

The fact that he’s a football player, a college student, unarmed and black is irrelevant.

19 is an adult, but I'm baffled as to why hey did not call him a teen. This seems to be a common AP Style error when it comes to yellow journalism.

the level of "bait the crowd" journalism is unbelievable....Millers race could not be confirmed. So if it turns out the officer was black, the shooting is understandable, but if he is white, then we need to call in an independent investigator?

I want us to investigate every police shooting where the victim is unarmed. Why must every altercation include the use of a gun? We clearly need better training.

Because criminals are like dangerous wildlife, talking don't always work.
