That was really sweet! Uplifting and sorrowful all wrapped up in poignant pictures.
In 2003 there was an organization in the states called Fairygodmother. My mom was dying from lung cancer and so wanted to take my son to a baseball game before she died. (She had promised him this outing before she got sick and cash got tight.) I contacted them and she got her wish. My mom wanted me, my son, and my brother to accompany her...which we did. We had a fantastic outing, and we have a wonderful memory scrapbook to remember the whole experience. My mom glowed that day! We talked about it until she could no longer communicate.
I don't know what happened to Fairygodmother, I searched for them a few times with no success. However, anyone looking for a wish foundation that helps adults should do some searches to see what is out there.
It is so nice that people nearing the end of their lives are giving this opportunity. For some - wishes do come true.
Beautiful story. I love the part of your mom glowing having a day of fun!
