Canada isn't far away enough. How about South Africa for the man in question?

I hope Canada takes this man. I doubt he has contributed, or will contribute, anything positive to the US. Good riddance.

The ignorance on this thread is amazing.

Canada is a sovereign country. We make our own laws, and enforce them.

WE decide who gets to enter our country, and who is allowed to QUALIFY for Immigrant status here.

Once again , let me reiterate that Canada does NOT accept US citizens as refugees, period.

We DO accept refugees from OTHER countries, that meet OUR standards for consideration, based on their individual situation and their country of origin. The USA is NOT one of those.

In the case of this American, his arrest warrants in the US, bar him from staying in Canada. The Refugee and Immigration board is following our laws, and eventually, he WILL be sent back to the US, after a hearing.

I think he and about 15 million more blacks should emigrate to Canada to avoid the oppression they feel in the USA....soon thereafter we'll hear all kinds of stories about Canadian discrimination.

This guy is crying about police brutality while boasting a record including resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and issuing threats? Is he kidding? Does he really not see the irony/the real issue here?

Amen!!!

You keep insisting that Canada does "not accept US citizens as refugees period" but that's not what it says in the link below.

Please read what it says about US citizens applying for refugee status from within Canadian borders.

Whether this particular fellow qualifies is irrelevant to your assertion. If the link is wrong- please post a link that says otherwise.

Canada doesn't want criminals either. Why does the US always have to be the exception to anything and everything? Maybe Mr. Canty isn't the special little snowflake he thinks he is.

He should move to Nigeria or the Congo, then he wouldn't have to put up with Honky cops.
