I don't know how to post a link from my phone....
What in the blue blazes is wrong with you?

The easy proliferation of firearms and their legal or otherwise possession by people who should not have access to them, is my raison-de-etra and has been all along.

Is childishness a virtue where you're from?

He says that by glorifying these deviants, we encourage more. He said the only media coverage of the mass killers that live should show them handcuffed to a radiator in dirty underwear.

I'd add crying like a baby. I don't want to know about them anymore. Let some psychologist quietly study them, but CNN and the others are not doing society any favors with wall to wall coverage.
But how does this claim hold up when you look at mass shooting rates which not controlling for population growth are flat for the past 30 years? While in the past 30 years the 24 hour news cycle has made these things top stories.

Why do you say they are flat?

Mass Shooting Tracker: How Redditors Are Challenging the FBI's Definition of Mass Killing

Excerted: “The goal is to stop minimizing these acts of violence,” Weller explains. The site’s authors point to a 2012 shooting in which one person was killed and 18 people were wounded at a nightclub. Because only one person died, it was not considered a mass shooting. This June, 10 people were shot at a block party on a basketball court in Detroit; the next day, 11 were wounded when two people opened fire with a shotgun at a block party in West Philadelphia. Neither were widely referred to as mass shootings."

7 things you need to know about mass shootings in America

Even using the FBI's definition of four or more victims excluding the shooter you have the anomaly of some states not even having a requirement or existing methodology to report them to the FBI.

Then post links other than what you deem a necessary. Tell us then why was your OP LINK different than the 9 year old child getting killed? Go ahead....I'll wait, just like you won't make a thread about this kid..... .but carry on saying that you care about all.....

I was unaware an Internet Majesty had been declared.

I did not say I cared about all. You'd definitely not be on that list.

You're once again conflating 'firearms in the wrong hand's with 'people being shot by them'.

I'll look forward to you quietly waiting; as will others, I'm sure. Don't hold your breath Chuck.

I'm not an expert at predicting violence. Gavin De Becker is, and he has stated that wall to wall coverage of these freaks is a bad idea. I happen to agree with him, after reading his books. I respect your opinion, as much as online opinions go, but I suspect you are not an expert either.

Nope, not claiming any expert status. Just pointing out that along side the major increase in 24 hour news in stories like this controlled for population mass shootings are down. Obviously that does not necessarily imply causality but it is worthy of discussion.

Ah yes, Everytown. Quite the reputable source. Reporting has only gotten better on crimes like this. An increase in statistical reporting would in theory cause an increase in counted events. Yet that has not happened.

Its called

Desensitisation

and even the media suffer from it.

Another day, another gun murder or 300.

Who cares.

The rest of the world sure doesn't. We're desensitized too.

We've tried over and over to explain the correlation between a violent society and the supply of arms and ammunition, to selfish deaf ears.

Basically American society as a whole, doesn't give a rats bum about the safety of littlies in a schoolroom, as long as the Precious Right To Bear Arms is preserved.

I personally care about the victims.

The rest of US society are basically begging for it with stubborn insistence on 2nd Amendment, homespun and wooldyed PARANOIA that leads them to arm themselves against (mostly) invisible boogeymen.

But of course, there are boogeymen...armed boogeymen with lockers and trucks full of AK 47s and other hardware designed to slaughter. Ho hum.

Maybe America will be the first society to shoot and internet itself to death.

Irony.
