Bomb found at Warren Central Junior High, chief says | Local News - Home

Some kid had an actual improvised explosive device in his backpack and showed it to another kid.

The second kid, age 13, reported it, and it was safely removed

This was no bomb threat -- this was the real thing.

Hooray for that smart 13 year old!

Wow, if that thing was actually a working bomb, this could have ended up very differently.
Yes, kudos to the kid smart enough to say something to his elders.

Sometimes the things that happen nowadays remind me of a Duran Duran song: 'Too much information.'
With the internet and www, kids today are bombarded with much too much unhealthy 'knowledge'.
In the hands of a nutcase or troubled youth, this is the end result.

Yes, this one was apparently an actual IED -- the police account describes it as such.

Of course most homemade contraptions are not effective, but we do not know any details whether he had help on his or not

Okay, I'm old, but I'm sitting here trying to think about who I would have wanted to blow up when I was 13....

tick tock tick tock...

Nope, can't think of anyone or anything.

What has happened in this kid's life that would impel him to do such a thing? SMH

Glad to hear that the other kid had presence of mind to report it. This could have been a tragedy.

There were a few kids in my old neighborhood that had copies of the Anarchist Cookbook. That was pretty crazy. I can only dare to imagine the information out there today. Pretty scary.

Alright, if no one else is going to ask (shocking), I need to know whether these kids are Muslims.
