Nothing new.
Most excessive force use cases are not even reported because deads don't talk.
If wounded, who believes the criminal (pre-assumed) over a cop?
If somehow it goes out, they laugh, 'Oh nice! Time to go on a paid vacation' until the incident is documented/typed as normal police job.
If a cop lies, did he lie wearing a uniform or off duty? If in uniform, it's okay.
If the incident is really bad, let's give him a paid vacation and charge him until we can drop the charges.
Oh btw, let's pay the family or dead or injured so we can shut their mouth when we drop the charges and release the cop.
And so on...
Some PD are gangs, trying to protect A$ donut pigs at any cost.
They don't even bother to plant evidence anymore, such is their utter contempt for any accountability. Even dash cam video doesn't put the murderers away. Unanimous opinions all around, cop committed murder, as long as the person they killed has a negative net worth they will walk.
When the cop shot the DUI, did he know that there was a "victim" to be avenged? Is this how all cops think? I'm just saying... if all the killers of innocent human beings were executed as punishment there would be a lot fewer cops in this country.

Actually.. Let's take the stupidity of the above statement and see if it would result in what you say...
Hmmm...let's look at recidivism... Multiple crimes committed by the same offender...
Damage caused by these offenders...
Nope. ...if we got to kill people with regularity and without regard... Or as in the case of this soon to be ex police officer... And if I'm right soon to be charged police officer...
The result would be fewer crooks... Eventually crime would get better permanently ..
Now let's look further at your statement..perhaps it does have some validity...let's see... Somewhere between 600k and a million police in our country out of 330 million citizens... Somewhere in the range of xxxx shoots last year. 99 percent were justified... Ok.. Let's take the amount held unjustified..officer charged and convicted of something.. Yes.. Let's see there were some.. Very few.. So I guess I concede there would be a few less police
Unfortunately or fortunately and more realistically..no.. We don't think this way... But we do have to endure the stupidity of those who think we do...
I was very surprised when he wasn't initially charged.given the current world and best practice.. You cannot shoot someone by accident... You can make a mistake and do it negligently.. Or have an equipment malfunction... Even then guns very very rarely sic.never go off without human input
Every policeman on this site is shaking their head saying to themselves.. You bought this one bud... Whatever comes your way you were never taught to do what you did.... The officer MAY have an explanation.... But that is for a grand jury or jury to decide. Once the death happened it did change the metrics
We don't get to kill non active threat drunk drivers..even those who just killed someone...if we did we would have by default fewer drunk drivers
Ok... Your throwaway line might feel good... But it like many of the other ignorant police posts on this site does nothing to help ... It only makes police think there are more idiots in the world than maybe is actually true

Well, I'm glad you came to the same conclusion most posters here did.
I'm not sure why it took the death of the drunk to make that admission.
There has been no announcement that the officer is being charged ... just that the DA will "reevaluate" the case: http://www.actionnewsnow.com/news/bu...lice-shooting/
After three "exhaustive" investigations?

There was no cover up...

A D.A. roll out shoot team was immediately assigned
Butte County Sheriffs rolled out an investigative team
Paradise PD did their own supervisory investigation
The D.A determined through three investigations ,,two independent that the shooting was accidental
