If I won the ticket and got the money, it will be very the most troublesome, tiring but exciting times ahead.

1. I will still stay in the US (I'm just holding a work visa), hence, still continue my employment.
2. I will immediately buy a small house but will spend more on renovation and security.
3. Immediately enroll my kids in private school.
4. I will buy Chevy Volt car so i drive in the car pool lane. I won't buy Tesla, my co-workers might suspect me for something.
5. I will hire an accountant, real estate specialists to guide me on real estate investments.
6. I will hire 2 nannies lol!
7. I will scout some start up businesses in China, US and some parts of Asia...and offer them funding in exchange of company ownership. Now this one will be the most troublesome and tiring. Chances that I might just end up buying start up companies in Silicon Valley.

ofcourse there are parties and travels in between

Not sure how high the numbers go up to now. It used to only go up to 50 or so. Now looks like numbers go all the way up to 75 or higher. At least last I recalled with Mega Millions and PB

You could flip the coin an infinite number of times, and it'll always be 50/50. Same with the lottery.

And here's a different way to look at it: if you flip a coin twice, that's not a guarantee you'll get tails. For simplicity's sake, let's say the odds of winning this lottery are 1 in 1,000,000. If you bought 1,000,000 tickets, that's not a guarantee that you'd win either. Somebody else that bought only one ticket could still win, since the probability is the same for everyone.

It does change your odds but it also changes the expected value of your outcome(s).

Assuming fair odds (of course casino and lottery odds are stacked in favor of the house), if you flip a coin twice, your odds are:

two tails (e.g. win twice) = 1/4 = 25%

one heads one tails (e.g. lose one, win one) = 1/2 = 50%

two heads (e.g. lose twice) = 1/4 = 25%

If you buy, say, 5 Powerball tickets, your odds of winning DO increase, from infinitesimal to (5 times infinitesimal).

BUT

You now are virtually assured of losing $10 (5 tickets * $2) instead of the $2 you would have lost if you had bought only one ticket.

Maybe you go for a walk around the block.
Maybe you go take a shower?
Maybe you go to the bar down the street?

What would you do immediately? You're standing there, holding the winning ticket, you turn around.....now what?
You must have read my mind. Or close to it. I would go for a bike ride. Why? Because there is a big difference when you are biking when you are not worth millions of dollars and when you are.

After the bike ride, I would tell a few friends/relatives, then order a BIG pizza!

Is it a wise investment?
We never play the lottery, but Tuesday night I put on a coat I haven't worn in a year and found $5 in the pocket. My husband jumped up and said "found money! Let's buy some lottery tickets!"

I left for a class and he went to the store to buy tickets. Imagine his surprise when it was PACKED with people buying tickets also. We had no idea.......

We also didn't win. LOL

No it's not. They aren't forced to play.

But it is stupid when you don't have money for anything else, but you spend it on tickets.

I cleaned out my car this morning & found a little over $4 in change so I bought two tickets.

If I just won my $4 back I'd be happy! LOL

If you buy two tickets, it's a pretty good bet both have losing numbers.
