Ok I'll bite.

I am certainly no gun apologist, but there's a world of difference between putting a dog down with a shot to his head and stabbing him to death in addition to blunt trauma to the head.

I agree. Of course, in the case of this particular dog, we have no idea if he might have survived with vet treatment, so the point is moot. I just wondered what people would say.

That's understandable, but I highly doubt she determined that the animal was too sickly, and expertly applied a quick shot to the head to instantly and relatively humanely put the animal out of its misery.

The likelier image I'm having -- her stumbling around her house tweaking at 2:00 am screaming about how she was running out of meth money and the damn dog was going to cost her more money, randomly grabbed a kitchen knife, and headed towards the dog like it was a demon possessing her.

That kid needs to be taken away ASAP.

Yep, I agree about the kid. If you listen to the audio in the link, the dog not only had numerous stab wounds but there was evidence of blunt force trauma as well.
