My God, enough already with the "shaming" garbaghe.
The dress was simply too revealing, and I'd be surprised if the school administrators hadn't issued guidelines beforehand, given the apparent need for today's kids to expose just about everything.
I don't get this everything-must-be-flaunted trend, anyway. The latest fad seems to be two-piece prom "dresses" that expose the midriff. *Sigh*
IMHO, it wasn't particularly revealing- she just has breasts.
Yes, she has breasts and she was showing a large portion of them. I think that was the problem. Women with large breasts just can't wear the same styles and achieve the same look as B cups. X amount of fabric only covers so much square footage.
Too bad her parents or friends didn't say something BEFORE she bought the dress. I feel really bad for her that she was embarrassed and missed her prom. But I think her bodice needed to extend upwards an inch or two for the prom.
I'd like to see the photos of the girls who said their dresses were more revealing.
The only problem I see with the dress is that it feels a bit mature for a high schooler. As for the school, it looks like she was subjected to the busty gal double standard. I am 100% sure there were far more revealing dressed at prom.
What do people expect when celebs like Kim K tries ot break the internet with nude photos of herself or other actual celebrities show up to award shows with tight, low cut, high slit very revealing outfits.
Kids emulate what they see as celebrities for better or worse.
There is nothing particularly revealing about that dress. You can see from the shoulders and skirt that it is fully lined. The bodice looks to be revealing only because the young woman is bustier than most at that age. My own daughter's prom dress was probably lower cut, but because she is an A-cup, it raised no eyebrows.
First off, it's a news article and we can't believe everything we hear/read from the media because they attempt to embellish everything.
We don't know if the a dress code was issued prior to the prom. We don't know first-hard exactly what was said, and therefore at this stage it's all hearsay.
Some assumed that the ruling was given only because the girl had large breasts - - again, nothing more than perception and hearsay.
Okay, I've read several articles about the prom dress, and her parents noted in one article that an alteration to the bodice gave way, making the dress more revealing. If you look closely at the neckline, you'll see that there appears to be an extra piece of lace attached in the middle of the bodice. I'm now wondering if that piece tore, leaving a whole lot more of the young woman's cleavage uncovered. If so, I can understand the concern from the prom chaperones. There are photobooth pictures of the young woman with her friends at prom after she put on the tuxedo jacket, but they're not very clear and do not show the bodice.
She looked beautiful and it was the perfect dress for her body type. It has that southern charm of yesteryear look. Quite possibly she had taken any precaution that her breast would slip out since that is easily done.
I have seen boobs and butt cheeks hanging out when the kids walk on their way home from school.
