I second this. People die every day and no one cares or takes notice. Homeless people freeze to death, middle-aged folk succumb to illnesses, children die when struck by drunken drivers.
And who do people decide to stand up for and care about? Some criminal who would have had ZERO problems with robbing you or worse.
Had the victim (the one who was mugged) simply had their hard earned money stolen, been traumatized by the possibility of being killed, etc, had to live in fear of this criminal knowing his address, and only filed a police report, NO ONE would have cared. He renders justice and all of a sudden he's the Punisher, and now people care because something bad happened to a criminal in their line of work.
