I was going to say, "how dumb do you think kids these days are?" But then I remembered how I was fooled as an adult into attending one of those Halloween "Harvest Festivals" at the fairgrounds in a town that I used to live in. I took my then preschool-aged son thinking it would be apple cider, candy, and carnival games. There was apple cider, but the games were not secular.
There was a little trailer at the local Farm Fair and some young adults walked around gathering kids for the next FREE Puppet show every 1/2 hour
You can guess what the puppet show was about! Scared the BeJesus out of the little ones - but I guess that's the idea.
I'd much rather put my daughter in after school satan club than after school bible club. If I found myself in a situation where I had to align with a recognized faith, I would probably choose Satanism. A childhood in Christianity was enough for one lifetime for me and I bristle at the notion of my daughter going through anything close to that misery I was subjected to.
I think the "hail satin" and wrong symbol shows they're just doing this to be obtuse. If they were serious they'd know how to spell the name right and they'd know the correct symbol. How many middle schoolers are Satan worshippers anyway? I'd at least think kids tend to lean this way more in high school.
