A popular fitness blogger and Instagram model in France died after a pressurized canister used for dispensing whipped cream exploded, hitting her in the chest.
why can't they scoop whipped cream out of a jar like the rest of us?
better yet, why can't they just whip it themselves and make it fresh?
The dispenser makes it fresh. You pour in liquid whipping cream and shake and voila, out comes fluffy whipped cream. When you whip cream in a mixer, it forces air into the cream. The cream traps the air and makes it fluffy. The dispensers have a nitrous oxide canister (laughing gas, which is why some people like to inhale it) that forces gas (instead of air) into the liquid whipped cream by shaking, and then the gas particles expand even more when dispensing and produce fluffy cream. It's convenient but it's really bad for the planet and since it's so easy to whip cream there's no need to use these dispensers.

I use one of those pressurized whipped cream dispensers every morning for my coffee. I only need one dollop, so it wouldn't be practical to whip up a batch every morning. And I don't know what kind you're talking about, that you scoop out of a jar. Do you mean Cool Whip in a plastic container? (Yuck)
At any rate, this is a horrible tragedy, and may make me rethink my coffee add-ins.

The disposable cans you can buy at the store might be a safer choice. I've never heard of anyone being injured by one.
