The upside for Cleveland is that the streak is coming near the end of the season, which means they are hitting their stride at the right time.
I hope so. I remember when the Rockies had a long winning streak at the end of the season. They made it to the World Series, but were swept by the Red Sox, I believe.
Football minds are not well suited to baseball. In baseball, the regular season separates the good teams from the bad. The playoffs are a made-for-TV crapshoot of an exhibition season.

I see what you are saying, but when a team that was already destined for the playoffs has a hot streak going into the playoffs, that is significant. That is true in either sport, except in football, the hot streak sometimes ends once the team clinches a high seeded playoff position, because they let the marquee players ride the bench for the later regular season games.
22 game winning streak. If you like baseball or not, that is quite a feat in today's world of sports parity. Almost impossible really.
Its not baseball-related, but do you remember when the Chicago Blackhawks had that 30-game win streak a few years back? That's not just amazing for the NHL, but for all sports, too.

That team was so much fun to watch. While they are still very good, some questionable trades have taken them from potential dynasty (like the current Penguins) to simply being a solid contender. Such a shame. I will definitely miss watching Panarin and Kane click the way they did. Reminded me of Kariya/Selanne in the 90s.

What about the UCONN Huskies women's basketball team with 111 consecutive wins. To me, this is more impressive because you are spanning this over multiple years of schooling where students come and go.

Well their streak was impressive but their loss to the Yankees this week sure wasn't.....
One of the reporters was mentioning that only 3 teams have ever won over 100 games and then go on to win the World Series. Seems the 100+ streaks are more of a curse in the end.
Sure hope Tito doesn't get canned the way John Farrell did (after having a good season and getting eliminated in the playoffs 2 years in a row).
It's hard to see another sport where good and bad teams are separated by so little as in baseball. 90 wins = playoffs (NYY). 80 wins = also-rans (LAA). 70 wins = trash heap (SDP).
