Its becoming a national problem. Some thieves have even been known to follow Fed - ex trucks.

Another video showed a early 20's male walk up to a door, take a box and walk away with it. He didn't even look to see the senders name. Could have been a box of adult diapers. In another theft, the home owner said that a laptop computer was stolen. Some thieves have been identified and arrested.
Is this just a Tampa Bay area thing or is it going on throughout the U.S.
It's relatively common in my area, yet some people go off on vacation and packages sit on their porches for days undisturbed in plain sight of anyone walking/driving by.

We use Amazon Key for all Amazon deliveries. Anything else...we go to a B&M or we cross our fingers.

Oh yes why I live in a GUARD gated - 'no one is getting near my house without a invite' community. The good of an HOA.

And they aren't getting near my front door, its 20 ft from the locked iron gate. Which most packages can be thrown in the courtyard.

I'm going to bolt/cement a box full of weights to my front porch and record the fun.

I've had things delivered that sat on my porch all day with no problem, yet at the same time many of my neighbors are reporting that their holiday decorations are being stolen at night. It might just be a timing thing.

Actually, they don't go to "crime prone" areas. They go to wealthy neighborhoods where most people are gone to work and maids/nannies/handymen/etc come and go during the day. Better package contents, less noticeable, less people looking out for crime. Although more likely to be reported...still not likely to get much police time on the case.
