Sure is a good thing she'll be given the "woman I have postpartum depression" pass.

You didn't even glance at the article. Take a look, then tell us why the mom won't get a free pass.

Mom too overwhelmed with her situation, trying to deal with daughter's disability without emotional means to do so.

very sad...to think she felt she had no options at that moment.

Right, there must have been social services available?

She might be someone who had mental health issues of course...then there are the people that are undereducated, maybe had no idea of services available. She needed a social worker to help guide her.

Looks like her family could have found a way to help her out...don't you think?

they knew she was struggling...

That's just it. There are always other options. She didn't see the other options. Greatblueheron you are spot on with what you said. However, now her child is dead and she will spend years behind bars.

She apparently stole a car right before the incident. Maybe she was on drugs or just psychotic.

Yes, the car-steal also seems very strange. Apparently she didn't have a car? How does a woman steal a car, anyway? She knew how to cross the wires? How to break in? And it's odd, in view of everything, that some people say there were no prior signs of stress or mental health issues.

So sad. Quite possibly preventable, if she'd gotten help for the child.
