So, I assume this was Uber Eats or similar? I don't use it, so perhaps someone can explain.. Why would you tip PRIOR to service being provided? Is that how it works? I mean, I don't think I'd want to leave a nice tip and then the service is crappy..
If the tip is left at time of delivery.. How did they know the tip was only 89 cents?
A Tennessee man was jailed on felony charges after appearing to dip his testicles into a container of salsa that a customer had ordered online. The delivery driver allegedly recorded it and posted a video online, saying “This is what you get when you give an 89 cents tip for an almost 30-minute drive.”
The dipper was a passenger with the delivery driver. News outlets report that the passenger, 31-year-old Howard Matthew Webb, was arrested last week and charged with adulteration of food.
I'm going out on a limb here but gonna say I'm PRETTY SURE he dipped his I can't say the word but it's the skin that houses the testicles into the salsa, not his testicles. Unless he ripped open his skin and pulled out the actual testicles and then dipped them. Another example of a male thinking that his fleshy bag signifies something. So weird and illogical. "Yay I'll just place this dainty flesh purse that's really quite hideous into this here salsa! That'll show 'em! Dainty flesh for the win!"
I wonder how much this kind of thing happens? I've certainly heard of cooks spitting in the food.
I wonder in cases where there is a delivery involved, and no one is watching the person, how often the food is tainted?
In a kitchen with other employees it's a little hard to spit in (or in this case, put your genitals in) food, but a delivery guy . . .
Had they not been so stupid to post this publicly, no one would ever know.
I used to be a driver at Domino’s. We remembered addresses and whether or not they tip. A lot of the young guy drivers spit on pizzas if got stuck with it and knew they weren’t getting tipped. Not all, but enough. And I’m sure some did worse. The worst I ever did was open the box on the drive so it got cold (I was young too) and I would deliver that one last even if it was the first house I passed. I wouldn’t have objected to 89 cents though depending who. A lot of old people think that’s a decent tip. Intention is everything. But I would absolutely not be a regular delivery customer for any sort of food if I didn’t tip.
