Why should he get a do over? He was caught DUI. I am not saying that he should be fired or imprisoned, have his license revoked or even be chastised. I hope he does ok too. But he broke the law and we all know that driving under the influence can be deadly. I wish him no ill will in the least. He seems like a good guy to me too... that’s not the point.
And I agree that mistakes should be learning experiences.... not life sentences. He f’ed up and should pay his penance is all I am saying. And I also hope he comes out ok in the end.
Which part of DUI aren't you getting? He'll hire an expensive lawyer, pay fines and fees, lose his licence for a while, and require an interlock device when they finally allow him to drive. You don't just walk away from this.

What part of reading comprehension did you miss in school? Re-read the post you quoted, or get someone to read it to you and explain it. I never said he should walk away. I said he screwed up and needs to face the music. Not the crime of the century and not something that should follow him around or effect the rest of his life.
$100 seems pretty cheap.
I find him skeevy in those commercials, seems like the kind of guy who hit's on his daughters friends.
I know, right? Version 1 of Trivago guy was seriously creepy, then the ad agency (after several viewers commented on his creepy appearance) gave him a bit of a makeover which was better. But there's still something about him that just weirds me out.
From the publicly available data on the clerk's website, it looks like it's actually a general bond where he has to pay $100 if he doesn't appear. That's getting to be typical in Harris County these days, since the county was having the crap sued out of it for setting bail too high for poor people.

1st offenders usually do walk away. Interlock never happens on first offense
I knew a guy that was a salesman, got a few DUIs. They ordered the interlock, so he bought a used car and had them install it on that car. Then he gave the car to his son in law and said drive this (to accumulate miles) and I'll give you the car when the interlock is over. Son in law got a free car, guy kept driving his Caddy with no hassle.
He can kiss his gig with Trivago goodbye. Once you get bad press like getting arrested and your mug shot is seen all over social media, no company is going to keep you as their spokesperson. They'll dump him like a hot potato.
