Yes, it's clear that he's chosen to plead guilty to this charge.

Obviously. It's all over the news. We know that he IS guilty, so that was a smart move...finally, on the family's part.

I don't think this has any bearing on the RCL lawsuit by the family.
They will eternally have to blame RCL for the 'Open Window' that CAUSED / enabled the death of their kid.

They must find a way to place this blame on others (to live with themselves / their own (mis)behaviors)

I don't think it is fair for RCL, but I am not a judge or a lawyer.

Winkleman said the deal "is in the best interests of the family so that they can close this horrible chapter and turn their focus to mourning Chloe." A hearing date for the change of plea has yet to be determined.

I wonder if they were able to finally view all the video and that's why he took the plea deal

I wonder if the parents and "grandfather" are not the best of friends anymore since the GF plead guilty which I believe makes the parents civil lawsuit very hard to win now.

This whole time the grandfather has not taken responsibility for poor Chloe. Perhaps due to pressure from the parents so that they can get money? And now that the GF sees he might just go to jail, he's taking the plea possibly against the parents wishes so he doesn't go to jail.

This should get interesting.

Good question, but it was the civil lawyer who announced his decision publicly. So who knows.

I think his lawyer finally got him to see reason. Either he was going to jail if he plead not guilty or would serve no jail time if he plead guilty and took a plea deal. His claim that his plea is “about letting the family grieve Chloe and heal” is a load of malarkey.

No reason they couldn’t see the video…everyone else saw it. They just didn’t wanna take a chance on him getting jail time.
